DAY 1 : PANGKALAN BUN – KUMAI – TANJUNG HARAPAN
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up by our local staff and take you to Kumai to board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. En route stop at first rehabilitation center for orangutan at Tanjung Harapan. Witness feeding time at 15.00. The boat crew includes the boatman, a cook and English speaking guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner and overnight on the boat. simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar - helpful guides and boatmen, or spend the night at the lodge near by the river (L, D).
DAY 2 : PARK – PONDOK TANGGUY – CAMP LEAKEY – BOAT/LODGE
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. En route stop at Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Then proceed to Camp Leakey . After lunch on the boat you will have opportunity to take small trek before see feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods. Overnight on the boat or at Rimba Lodge. (B,L,D).
DAY 3 : BOAT/LODGE – KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, you will be picked up by our staff then take you to Kumai for board on the boat. Cruise up river to explore the wildlife along way Sekonyer River, late afternoon see the proboscis monkey and other primates are found along the river. Lunch will be prepared on boat. Overnight on boat ( B,L,D)

Many of past clients call this is a "magical trip". We will take you to meet one of the human's closest living relatives in animal kingdoms: Orangutan living free at their natural home at Camp Leakey, Tanjung Harapan and Pondok Tanguy stations inside the misty rain forest surrounded by proboscis monkeys, macaques, gibbons, birds including the giant hornbills and other exotic flora and fauna. You will explore the quit river on a traditional klotok boat and having some short walk around the stations.
In the peaceful afternoon, we silently cruise the river to watch the Proboscis "Pinocchio" monkeys, birds and other animals playing in trees on the riverbanks while you enjoying your afternoon tea in the roof of the klotok boat.
In the beginning, Tanjung Putting National Park was a preserve area for plants and wild animals. An area about 305.000 ha. It was determined by the Dutch Government on June 13, 1936, and by the Forest Minister of Republic Indonesia, as the National Park on May 12, 1982. Since 1996, this National Park, which is located at the Peninsula of South West Central Borneo, has been enlarged into 415,40ha.
This Park has plenty of ecosystems. These are lowland forest, dry land forest, swamp forest, tropical rain forest, mangrove, sea forest and secondary forest. Also this park is the largest tropical rain forest in South East Asia.

Our PRIVATE Departures are designed for you who prefer the flexibility of travelling to Orangutan Borneo independently. You will not share the klotok boat with other travelers. There will be only you with your family or friend and our team (Guide, Boat crew).

BEST TIME TO VISIT : There is no special weather condition requires to fully enjoy this magical trip. We could do the visit at any time of the year, dry or wet season. You will find different beauty of nature at both weather.

Day 02: ON BOAT-CAMP LEAKEY
Orangutan Tour GroupAfter breakfast boarding up river to Camp Leakey to see feeding time, you will have opportunity trek to jungle for observe other primates. On the way up the river you may see estuarine crocodile, proboscis monkey, water snake, hornbill, stork bill king fisher, etc. lunch will be prepared on boat. Late afternoon slow down the river and tide the boat near the crocodile lake ( B,L,D)
Day 03: BOAT-KUMAI-AIRPORT
After breakfast transfer to Kumai then direct to airport to catch your flight. Tour end ( B
Free morning program until time transfer to Kumai then to Pangkalan Bun airport for next destination. ( B )
